I believe that the client has their own answers to their issues but needs the Empathy and Caring environment of the counselling process to access these answers. I offer a caring , confidential and professional service in a secure comfortable environment.
I use CBT, Psychodynamic and integrative Counselling approaches in my work. I work compassionately and non-judgmentally with my clients to lead them through their issues to self-actualisation. Counselling is an effective process which can help free you from obstacles to your personal growth. It deals with these issues and allows you to have a better quality of life. The insights you gain will impact every area of your life and remain with you forever. This is the best investment you will ever make in yourself.
I work collaboratively with the people who seek my services. When you meet me, I think you will find that I have a positive, respectful and non-judgmental approach to helping. I believe that people do the best they can with what they know at the time and have the skills & competencies to change their lives. My role as a therapist is to listen, support and ask questions that assist people to find long lasting solutions to their problems. Therapy can be short or long term. Short term can mean a few sessions to work through a particular practical issue. For example, learning how to reduce stress, parenting more effectively or improving an already strong relationship. Long term can mean regular sessions over several months or even longer for persistent problematic patterns of behavior. More complex problems include extreme marital or family conflict, healing from trauma or recovering from addiction.
The emotional scars we bear reminds us where we have been but they do not have to determine our future direction.
